OUR MISSION Helping Schools Exceed Expectations ICE Mission Statement The mission of the Independent College Enterprise is to improve efficiency and effectiveness for member schools through sharing information technology resources and supporting shared operational functions. Vision Statement The Independent College Enterprise will be a nationally recognized leader in institutional collaboration. Meet the ICE Board Members ICE is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of member school presidents with each school getting one vote. The board is responsible for the legal and financial oversight of the corporation. ABOUT INDEPENDENT COLLEGE ENTERPRISE (ICE) Working Smarter Together The inspiration for the Independent College Enterprise, referred to as ICE, began in the late 1990’s when two schools discussed pooling resources to purchase and maintain an integrated information management system. ICE formed after enlisting the commitment and support from several institutions and today the collaboration consists of ten small independent higher education institutions: Alderson Broaddus University, Bethany College, Davis & Elkins College, Emory & Henry College, Stillman College, Tusculum University, University of Charleston, West Virginia Wesleyan, Wheeling University, and William Peace University. While the colleges share hardware, software and technical personnel, each school has exclusive access to its own data. We, in the central ICE organization, see ourselves as an extension of the school IT departments and work with the schools to maximize its investment in database technologies. Collaborating streamlines administrative processes, reduces expense and increases service to students, faculty and parents. Server Hosting services Software installation and maintenance User and database security Application consulting, training and support Project management SOLUTIONS ERP/SIS system - Ellucian Colleague Numerous interactive Solutions that enable students to access their data 24x7 from anywhere/any device Advancement -Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge Document Imaging -Softdocs suite of solutions Reporting - Entrinsik’s Informer, CompuCare’s Synoptix Member schools share resources for purchasing, hosting, maintaining, and supporting an integrated student information system (SIS) and other technologies.
